President Kennedy, the romantic hero of the American nation in the twentieth century while Marilyn Monroe, the blond Hollywood actress, was in every man?s dream was in news when they were in affair with one another. Perhaps, the affair between Marilyn Monroe and President Kennedy still tops the list of celebrity affairs.

Rumors of their affair had often surfaced during their lifetime and speculations continue till date about their much talked about affair. Nobody can forget the ?Happy Birthday? sung by Marilyn Monroe for President Kennedy on his birthday. It remains forever etched in our memories and history.

President Kennedy was known for his fascination of Hollywood and fondness for Hollywood actresses all his life. Marilyn Monroe?s life at that given point of time was ruled by alcohol and drugs. President Kennedy on the other hand was married to Jackie Kennedy. The fact that he was married did not stop President Kennedy from beginning a rendezvous and his affair with the blond Hollywood dream of the twentieth century, Marilyn Monroe.

The affair was to have extremely tragic consequences for the American Dream girl later on. Kennedy, the romantic hero at that point of time was known for cheating on his wife with more than one woman and Monroe was just one of the many women he had an affair with, therefore it did not mean much to him. Monroe on the other hand became obsessed with Kennedy who after a vacation at Palm Springs with Monroe wanted very little to be with her.

Marilyn Monroe had dreams of marrying Kennedy and becoming the First Lady of the United States which were crushed by Kennedy. Kennedy had apparently remarked to her once that she was not exactly the kind of woman who could be made a first lady, an insult, a rejection Marilyn Monroe found hard to digest. She was not used to rejection. Her disturbed past, a schizophrenic mother and abandoned by her father, Marilyn desperately sleeked a stable father figure in her life which she expected President Kennedy to be.

Kennedy was obviously not interested in more than a fling with her and therefore broke the relation off without caring much. This hurt Marilyn deeply and later when she died in the year 1962, she was using prescription drugs and alcohol to maintain her emotional stability. Their short relationship had a very strong damaging effect on Marilyn?s life and to the world source of entertainment.
