Mouse Computer's LuvBook S heals emotional scars, one Hello Kitty at a time

What the world needs now is just one thing, and that thing is a bejeweled Hello Kitty laptop. Fortunately, Japan's Mouse Computer is well aware of this, which is why it's unleashed the LuvBook S, pictured above. Designed in collaboration with Sanrio and Swarovski, this masterpiece is powered by a 2.2 GHz Intel Core i3-2330M processor and boasts an 11.6-inch, 1,366 x 768 display. It also packs a 500GB HDD and a 1.3 megapixel camera, but all that really matters is the swaggy centerpiece -- a heart-ensconced Hello Kitty mug made out of about 1,100 Swarovski stones and untold buckets of cuddles. The LuvBook is available now for $900, at the source link below.

Divorcing Couples Discover They Can Also Fight Over Their Pets

Divorcing Couples Discover They Can Also Fight Over Their Pets
You usually hear about couples waging epic battles for custody of their children when they split up, but more and more people are learning that they can also fight over custody of their pets. And why not since pets are often considered members of the family. Mo Rocca delved into the different arrangements people make with their former partners, and how it affects the pets. While he has fun with the topic, it can be a serious issue. Some couples, according to one divorce lawyer, have killed pets rather than share them. (Evil!)

We must be becoming ever more attached to our pets, because legal battles over pets have gone up 23% in the last ten years, and it's not just cats and dogs people fight about?it can be birds, horses, and probably lizards and snakes too. But while divorce may be hard on the people, it's not always bad for the animal. As Rocca points out in the case of Baldwin the dog, sometimes splitting up and sharing the pet means the pet gets "the best of both worlds"?happy owners and plenty of time with both of them.

This is just a light glimpse of the school. There are a couple more buildings and such.

How did this all begin??Oh, Right, a recent advertising campaign.

IS THERE NOT ENOUGH DISCIPLINE IN THE STUDENTS OF YOUR LOCAL AREA?

DO YOU FEEL THEY'RE JUST NOT SHOWING ENOUGH STRENGTH, AND TAKING ACTION?

DO YOU FIND THEY'RE WEAK IN THEIR STUDIES AND THEY SIMPLY REFUSE ASSISTANCE?

ARE THEY CAUSING TOO MANY FIGHTS ON THE STREETS?

THEN LOOK NO FURTHER!

Here At Gokugakku...This:

Image

Becomes This!:

Image

Gokugakku is a school that has been around for hundreds of years. Its methods have shaped many, in political, entertainment, economical, and other areas of business through intense disciplinary practices and a challenging environment. Our vast programs will test the young people mentally and physically, as well as in a much deeper spiritual sense, so they may grow into fine, strong adults with a boundless path before them.

If you wish for a teen close to you to truly succeed, Gokugakku is the supreme school above all others. We mold girls into beautiful women, and boys into real, strong men. Don't fall for the claims others make about our methods being useless and wrong: They're just jealous of the ratio of graduates. ADVANCED graduates. for us, that's our entire student body combined!

~ The Headmaster

Image

Everything they said was true. They only didn't mention the fact Gokugakku is a school known for its feared 'Unique Tactics,' special lessons and punishments made to discipline students harshly, with punishments such as the Broken Limbs Battle, Where your fingers and legs are broken, and you must fight your teacher, who is perfectly healthy, and armed with a weapon. Or something even worse, like the Poison Hide N' Go Seek: Where you only have three hours to find the antidote to an injected poison on school grounds by any means, including going up against your classmates, teachers, etc only to be hurt worse, or get another specialty entirely for breaking rules!

And that's just the first week.

Think you can do better than that?

I don't think so.

But there IS a slim chance you may just live through this. And if you do, you'll probably owe it to your friends: for you see, here at Gokugakku, bonds are formed through hardship. Namely the sharing of that hardship with others, in order to keep on going no matter what. viewpoints shall change. Love may even be found. Boys and Girls will be gone, with Men and Women Rising in their place.

This is the place where you've buried your dreams and ambition: and you've got to dig deep to find them!

Welcome to The School From Hell!

The School:

Gokugakku is situated on the outskirts of town. On some hills are a giant staircase to the school campus and built on a small mountain not far from civilization is the campus itself.

There are at least three most important buildings. The Main school building which houses offices and storage, Boys' Dorm (Dorm of Fists and Rage), and Girls' Dorm (Dorm of Heart and Mind), as well as two learning buildings for physical and non-physical lessons. They are all arranged in the shape of a star.

Meals are served in an area of the non-physical class building. Boys usually get worse food than the girls, who are treated much better in certain places, also including locker rooms and uniforms.

Far off into the forest is a Co-Ed 'Prison' that REALLY punishes students, sort of like detention. On steroids. there is also an abandoned temple that is sometimes visited by monks who sell charms. Here, Students can pray for good grades, strength, etc.

Ranking System:

First Year Students: Slaves (Girls have been nicknamed 'Sex Slaves' by the boys)

Second Years: Kaijin (Monsters) and Succubi

Third Years: Asura (Violent Deity) and Love Goddesses

Fun Facts:

- There are methods of the boys being about to sneak out of their dorm to see the girls and vice versa.
- You are not allowed to leave school grounds unless permission is granted (rarely) or its a class trip. You can find a way to sneak out for a night on the town before you're caught?By the teachers, guard dogs, and/or electrocuted by the fence.
- In the past, girls have been excused from only physical classes due to having given birth ala teen pregnancy.
- "RUCIFA NO GOKUGAKKU DE ARRUUUU!!!" is the signature catchphrase repeated by Principal Rucifa meaning 'I AM RUFICA, THE PRINCIPAL OF THE SCHOOL FROM HELL!!"

Meetings and special events take place in the center of the Campus. The second year upperclassmen sometimes appear to 'help' the first years learn, or just show them who's boss, and have their own co-ed dorm far off where they get to party more often. The Third years are mysterious, unknown, and incredibly dangerous?they only show themselves in important times.

Classes (2-4 most likely to last longest and have most torture.)

1. General Studies
2. Spiritual Practice (Meditation, etc)
3. Gym
4. Lunch
5. Budo (Kendo, Judo, Karate, etc. Martial Arts training.)

The School's top sports are participated by all during Gym, after the school day, etc:

1. Satsujin No Ragubii (Murder Rugby): The original game of Rugby, but with less rules.

2. Baskettoburor (Basketball, or 'Basket-Brawl): Similar to Murder Rugby, but more basketball oriented

3. Martial Arts

-Kendo
-Judo
-Karate

4. Swimming

Uniforms

Girls: a classic 'Serafuku' Style. They also get a special gym and swimming uniform as well as two choices of formal outfits for school festivals and such. This is because they're treated better, and it makes them look hotter.

Boys: A Classic Gakuran/German Military style. The coats are long, pants baggy, and the cloth goes past the leather belts they wear around their waist, with pointy tipped shoes. the rest can be customized. Only the strongest can wear their coats openly without a shirt under. All boys must also wear bandages around the stomach called 'Sarashi.'

This is the only uniform they get, as opposed to the girls. For Gym, they simply remove the coat. Should they ever swim, they may use a pair of swim trunks of their choice.

(AP) ? Pakistan on Saturday accused NATO helicopters of firing on two army checkpoints in the country's northwest and killing 26 soldiers, then retaliated by closing the border crossings used by the coalition to supply its troops in neighboring Afghanistan.

The incident Friday night was a major blow to already strained relations between Islamabad and U.S.-led forces fighting in Afghanistan. It will add to perceptions in Pakistan that the American presence in the region is malevolent, and to resentment toward the weak government in Islamabad for its cooperation with Washington.

It comes a little over a year after a similar but less deadly strike, in which U.S. helicopters accidentally killed two Pakistani soldiers near the Afghan border, whom the pilots mistook for insurgents. Pakistan responded by closing the Torkham border crossing to NATO supplies for 10 days until the U.S. apologized.

On Saturday, Pakistan went further, closing both of the country's two border crossings into landlocked Afghanistan. NATO trucks about 30 percent of the non-lethal supplies used by its Afghan-based forces through Pakistan. A short stoppage will have no effect on the war effort, but it is a reminder of the leverage Pakistan has over the United States from the supply routes running through its territory.

NATO said it was an investigating an "incident" along the border.

"My most sincere and personal heartfelt condolences go out to the families and loved ones of any members of Pakistan security forces who may have been killed or injured," said Gen. John Allen, the top overall commander of U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan in a statement.

Much of the violence in Afghanistan is carried out by insurgents that are based just across the border in Pakistan. Coalition forces are not allowed to cross the frontier to attack the militants. The militants however sometimes fire artillery and rockets across the line, reportedly from locations close to Pakistani army posts.

American officials have repeatedly accused Pakistani forces of supporting ? or turning a blind eye ? to militants using its territory for cross-border attacks. The border issue is the major source of tension between Islamabad and Washington, which wants to stabilize Afghanistan and withdraw its combat troops there by the end of 2014.

In a statement sent to reporters, the Pakistan military blamed NATO for Friday's attack in the Mohmand tribal area, saying the helicopters "carried out unprovoked and indiscriminate firing" but did not give figures for the dead and injured.

The attack killed 26 soldiers and wounded 14 others, said the governor of the northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Masood Kausar.

The helicopters attacked two checkpoints around 1,000 feet apart from each other, one of them twice, and two officers were among the dead, said a government official in Mohmand and a security official in Peshawar, the main city in Pakistan's northwest.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media.

Ties between Washington and Islamabad had already taken an especially hard hit from the covert U.S. commando raid that killed Osama bin Laden in a Pakistani garrison town on May 2. The Pakistanis were outraged that they were not told about the operation beforehand, and now are angered even more than before by U.S. violations of the country's sovereignty.

"Any aggression on the (army) is an aggression against Pakistan," information minister Firdous Aashiq Awan told reporters. "We will not only protest, but we will prove through certain actions that the Pakistani government cannot tolerate this."

Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani said the government was complaining "in the strongest terms" to NATO and the U.S.

A Pakistani customs official told The Associated Press that he received verbal orders Saturday to stop all NATO supplies from crossing the border through Torkham in either direction. The operator of a terminal at the border where NATO trucks park before they cross confirmed the closure. They spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter.

Saeed Ahmad, a spokesman for security forces at the other crossing in Chaman in southwest Pakistan, said that his crossing was also blocked following orders "from higher-ups."

The U.S., Pakistan, and Afghan militaries have long wrestled with the technical difficulties of patrolling a line that in many places is disputed or poorly marked.

Friday's incident took place on the same day as a meeting between NATO's Gen. Allen and Pakistan army chief Gen. Ashfaq Parvez Kayani in Islamabad to discuss border operations.

The meeting tackled "coordination, communication and procedures between the Pakistan Army, ISAF (intelligence services) and (the) Afghan Army, aimed at enhancing border control on both sides," according to a statement from the Pakistani side.

The checkpoints that were attacked had been recently set up in Mohmand's Salala village by the army. They were intended to stop Pakistani Taliban militants holed up in Afghanistan from crossing the border and staging attacks, said two local government administrators, Maqsood Hasan and Hamid Khan.

The Pakistani military has blamed Pakistani Taliban militants and their allies for killing dozens of security forces in such cross-border attacks since the summer. Pakistan has criticized Afghan and foreign forces for not doing enough to stop the attacks, which it says have originated from the eastern Afghan provinces of Kunar and Nuristan. The U.S. has largely pulled out of these provinces, leaving the militants in effective control of many areas along the border.

The Afghan government blamed Pakistan for firing hundreds of rockets into eastern Afghanistan earlier this year that killed dozens of people. The Pakistan army has denied it intentionally fired rockets into Afghanistan, but acknowledged that several rounds fired at militants conducting cross-border attacks may have landed over the border.

The U.S. helicopter attack that killed two Pakistani soldiers on Sept. 30 of last year took place south of Mohmand in the Kurram tribal area. A joint U.S.-Pakistan investigation found that Pakistani soldiers fired at the two U.S. helicopters prior to the attack, a move the investigation team said was likely meant to notify the aircraft of their presence after they passed into Pakistani airspace several times.

Pakistan moved swiftly after the attack to close Torkham to NATO. Suspected militants took advantage of the impasse to launch attacks against stranded or rerouted trucks carrying NATO supplies.

Senior U.S. diplomatic and military officials eventually apologized for the attack, saying it could have been prevented with greater coordination between the U.S. and Pakistan. Pakistan responded by reopening the border crossing.

Plane with 6 crashes in AZ, no sign of survivors (AP)

PHOENIX ? A small plane with six people aboard, including three children, crashed in flames in mile-high mountains on Phoenix's eastern outskirts, leaving one child confirmed dead and no signs of any survivors, authorities said.

Preliminary reports indicate the two-engine aircraft flew from Safford to Mesa's Falcon Field to pick up three children for the Thanksgiving holiday and was headed back to Safford in southeastern Arizona, Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu said.

The aircraft slammed into an area of rugged peaks and outcroppings in the Superstition Mountains, 40 miles east of downtown Phoenix, at about 6:30 p.m. MST. authorities said.

Callers reported hearing an explosion near a peak known as the Flat Iron, close to Lost Dutchman State Park, Sheriff's spokeswoman Angelique Graham said.

Witnesses reported a fireball and an explosion.

"I looked up and saw this fireball and it rose up," Dave Dibble told KPHO-TV . "All of a sudden, boom."

Sheriff's spokesman Elias Johnson said the body of one child was recovered late Wednesday night from the crash scene, but additional details weren't released.

No names were immediately released. The children reportedly were between the ages of 5 and 9. A pilot, a mechanic and another adult were also on board, Babeu said.

Rescue personnel used infrared devices to search for bodies, but had not been able to detect any sign of movement, according to Johnson.

"It does not look promising," Babeu said at a news conference. "We will search throughout the night."

Rescue crews flown in by helicopter to reach the crash site reported finding two debris field on fire, suggesting that the plane broke apart on impact.

"The fuselage is stuck down into some of the crevices of this rough terrain, and we're doing our best at this point in the darkness," Babeu said. "This is not a flat area, this is jagged peaks, almost like a cliff-type rugged terrain."

Video showed several fires burning on the mountainside, where heavy brush is common. Flames could still be seen from the suburban communities of Mesa and Apache Junction hours after the crash.

The region is filled with steep canyons, soaring rocky outcroppings and cactus. Treasure hunters who frequent the area have been looking for the legendary Lost Dutchman mine for more than a century.

Some witnesses told Phoenix-area television stations they heard a plane trying to rev its engines to climb higher before apparently hitting the mountains. The elevation is about 5,000 feet at the Superstition Mountains' highest point.

Calls to Falcon Field, which mostly serves small, private planes, weren't immediately returned Wednesday night.

Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Allen Kenitzer said the Rockwell AC-69 was registered to Ponderosa Aviation Inc. in Safford. A man who answered the phone Wednesday night at Ponderosa Aviation declined comment.

Kenitzer said the FAA and National Transportation Safety Board would be investigating the cause of the crash.

We worry about, but don't budget for, holidays

Charles Rex Arbogast / AP

Very few shoppers set a strict holiday budget, according to a new survey.

By Allison Linn

Given the state of the economy, it comes as no surprise that many Americans are worried about how they?ll be able to pay for all their holiday expenses.

The trouble is, most of us don?t seem to be doing much to plan for it.

A new survey from the National Endowment for Financial Education finds that just 31 percent of consumers plan to set a budget this holiday season. That?s only slightly more than last year, when 27 percent said they were making a budget.

The vast majority said they weren?t going to set a holiday spending budget. Still, only 10 percent said they often spend more than they want to. That?s about the same as last year.

The wealthier the household, the less likely they were to set a budget.

Half of the people NEFE surveyed said they were more worried about being able to afford holiday expenses than they were five years ago. Nearly 4 in 10 are just as concerned about holiday spending as they were five years ago.

Harris Interactive conducted the survey of about 2,800 adults earlier this month on NEFE?s behalf.
